The database mode includes both the Default database and Custom database modes. The only difference between both modes is that for the Custom database mode you can specify Database settings to choose which database system to use and that for the Default database mode a SQLite database is automatically created for the concerned profile without anything to configure.

 

One important thing for the database mode is the performance.

 

A database can also be shared with other users by using Read only database profiles
